Two new editorial illustrations
These two watercolors were done as part of an editorial assignment (an article that dealt with the use of cosmetics and other beauty products and the attitudes surrounding them). The spread (the first image) was a bit of an experiment, as I painted it on clayboard. In the past, I've only ever used watercolor paper when using watercolors. It was certainly an interesting surface to work with, but I definitely prefer paper.

Whoa! That "experiment" turned out alright. Haha, my experiments usually don't look as clean. I dig the texture that you got from watercolor on clayboard. Also, the highlights on the hair (both pieces) are really nice, Charla.
Both lovely pics...
Thanks, guys! It was indeed an experiment that could have gone awry, Tim. But, that's how we learn, I suppose! I'm headed over to your blog now!!
