Shoes

Here's a little ink piece I created recently, as I have been working on a few personal samples. I've got some exciting new works in progress, so stay tuned! If you're in the Nashville area, pick up the July issue of Her Magazine and see if the cover art looks familiar. =) Happy Father's Day!

Love is in the Air!

Here is my latest piece! This was created for an assignment in which I was challenged to illustrate the concept of "love." I chose to take a slightly more narrative approach, one that could tie into the children's book concept that I've been developing and adding on to for a couple of years....and this was the result. Essentially, I combined my love of Paris and daschunds into one image. Prints are now available in the shop!

Fille et Lapin

The weekend was super-busy between schoolwork, my graduate review, and my job, but here's a sketch I inked, and then polished off with a little watercolor/digital media. I'm thinking of offering it in the shop as a small print or postcard. Rabbits are infesting my sketchbook these days!

Something different.

So here is my latest illustration. This is acrylic on a textured board, using the Fletcher color system (a technique which involves selecting a "soloist" color from the color wheel, which makes up 10% of the painting and is accompanied by two "chorus" colors and a number of corresponding colors. While I like textured surfaces and acrylic paint, I normally don't work with either of the two (at least, I haven't in quite some time). Still, I'm pleased with this one. Prints are available in my Etsy shop!

My husband and I saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button today, and it was absolutely the most beautiful film I've seen in years. Do check it out.

New Illustration!

Here's my latest illustration, "The Grand Pumpkin Pie." I typically work in watercolor and ink, but I'm employing digital techniques more and more frequently. This piece was somewhat of an experiment (and an assignment), and I'm really pleased with the outcome. Expect more pieces done in this method! Prints are available in my Etsy shop!

New items...

Over the past few days I updated the shop a little, adding a new print, new sketchbook, and a set of originals. Have a look! I'll be adding more newness over the course of the next couple of weeks. I'm hoping to have fifty items in the shop by mid-February.
